Loretta’s Story
Loretta grew up in Condell Park, Sydney, Australia. Being raised in an Italian family, love was often expressed through food and how much you ate. She was never thin, but maintained a solid frame by participating in many sports like athletics, netball and soccer. Growing up in a hard working family led her to give up all sports at age 13. Swapping the healthy hobbies with working in various jobs including hamburger outlets, menswear store, supermarkets, cafes, and as a personal assistant left no time for exercise.
Loretta completed her university degree and worked with a major bank for 3 years in internet banking. Then, in 1999, she started her own web development business alongside her husband. Exercise was reintroduced to her life, but she was very relaxed on the nutrition.
In 2000 she fell pregnant to twin boys and subsequently had another boy in 2004. After many years of being a full time mum, she decided to return to work, but not at a corporate level. She kept herself sane through nursing period of the kids by attending the gym to give herself some personal time. Realising how healthy exercise was for her mental state she decided to follow her passion and become a personal trainer.
After having the kids, she found herself living like many other mothers, namely a lack of energy, gaining weight and no time to exercise. Her philosophy at work is to help others succeed in their dreams, to educate them to incorporate lifetime changes to maintain a healthy and active lifestyle throughout.
During 2009-2010 Loretta embarked on her figure competing ambition. She went on to win the Australian and World Titles in natural Figure competitions during that period.
Like many, Loretta juggles several tasks at once, maintaining a home, family, a self image, work and a social life. Although every day may not be a success, she looks at every moment in life as an experience. There’s no use procrastinating about what has happened; use it as a learning experience and try to better yourself from it. Life is a journey, we only get one shot at it.
This journey has taught Loretta to not accept “status quo” if you are not happy. Moving out of your comfort zone can open up many doors. We create our own barriers. To get something you never had, you have to do something you never did. Loretta wants to share her journey with others and endorse the philosophy that ‘anything is possible’. She wants to share, inspire and be inspired!
